God the Spirit
Bible Matters 301 God the Spirit
John
16:7-14,16-17 – Nevertheless I tell you the truth;
It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter
will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. And when he is come, he will reprove the
world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: Of sin, because they believe not on me; Of righteousness, because I go to my Father,
and ye see me no more; Of judgment,
because the prince of this world is judged.
I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them
now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of
truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of
himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew
you things to come. He shall glorify me:
for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. A little while, and ye shall not see me: and
again, a little while, and ye shall see me, because I go to the Father. Then said some of his disciples among
themselves, What is this that he saith unto us, A little while, and ye shall
not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me: and, Because I go
to the Father?
The Holy
Ghost is present in the world and he equips you with powers that you do not
have when you walk with the devil.
Acts 1:8 –
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy
Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem,
and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
We know
that the Son of God can come back to earth at any time. Do not doubt the power of the living
God. It is by faith that the
non-believers are converted.
Daniel
3:16,17,24,25,30 – Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, answered and said to the
king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter. If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to
deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine
hand, O king. Then Nebuchadnezzar the
king was astonied, and rose up in haste, and spake, and said unto his
counsellors, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They
answered and said unto the king, True, O king.
He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of
the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of
God. Then the king promoted Shadrach,
Meshach, and Abed-nego, in the province of Babylon.
I called
upon the Lord to defend his word and he texted me Romans 8:28. Never doubt the power of the living God.
Romans
8:28 – And we know that all things work together for good to them that love
God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
When you
are bound by your sins, you have no freedom.
The devil will keep you in chains.
Your flesh has no power against your addiction. “No not me,” you say! Cold turkey, give it up. I thought so.
With the power of the Holy Ghost you can be made free.
John
8:31-32 – Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
There will
be liberty in your life to enjoy the blessings that God has sent and sends your
ways.
2
Corinthians 3:17 – Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the
Lord is, there is liberty.
Blessings
that God freely sends your ways.
1
Corinthians 2:12 – Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the
spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to
us of God.
With the
Holy Spirit dwelling in you, you are now a temple of God. A God that looks forward to being honored by
how you live your life. A God that looks
forward to you praise and worship. A God
that does not want his temple washed afoul with alcohol and drugs, nor
abuse. A God that loves you just the way
he made you.
1
Corinthians 3:16 – Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit
of God dwelleth in you?
A God that
does not support sin and the devil. A
God that despises his temple to be corrupted by sin. There is no place in heaven for a fitly
temple.
Ephesians
5:1-7 – Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; And walk in love,
as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a
sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling savour.
But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be
once named among you, as becometh saints;
Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not
convenient: but rather giving of thanks.
For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous
man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of
God. Let no man deceive you with vain
words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of
disobedience. Be not ye therefore
partakers with them.
A God that
has sealed you with a promise. A God
that promises salvation for all that follow him.
Matthew
16:24 – Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any
man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow
me.
Ephesians
1:13 – In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel
of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with
that holy Spirit of promise,
Through
the Spirit, you will hear God’s word.
Galatians
5:25 – If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
If you
keep his sayings, and follow him, then you shall never see death.
John
8:47,51 – He that is of God heareth God’s words: ye
therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God. Verily, verily, I say unto
you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death.
John
10:27-28,30 – My sheep hear my voice, and I know
them, and they follow me: And I give
unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man
pluck them out of my hand.
Matthew
7:21 – Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord,
shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father
which is in heaven.
Do not
blaspheme the word of God or the power or the Holy Ghost.
Titus
2:5-7 – …the word of God be not blasphemed.
Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded. In all things shewing thyself a pattern of
good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,
You
blaspheme the Holy Ghost when you sin willfully. As a believer, do not blaspheme the Holy
Ghost.
Matthew
12:31 – Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin
and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy
Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.
Worship
God in spirit and truth. When you
believe in Jesus, you believe in his doctrine, you follow him and repent of
your sins and turn to a righteous life serving God. You are born again as a new creature, abiding
in God’s word, receiving the gift of everlasting life.
To God be the glory in all you do, Amen.
