Shall be Saved

Bible Matters 572:  Shall be Saved

Saved is a state of mind, where verses are searched and concluded that based on your belief, you’ll have everlasting life.  2000 years after Jesus died on the cross, man still worries about the end, to be saved.    The disciples that followed Jesus worried about the end, also.  Jesus told them not to worry about the end.  You need to understand the beginning.

Gospel of Thomas: Saying 18: Beginning and End – The disciples said to Jesus, “Tell us about our end. How will it come?”

Jesus said, “Have you discovered the beginning so that you can look for the end? Because the end will be where the beginning is. Blessed is the one who will stand up in the beginning. They’ll know the end, and won’t taste death.”

Jesus said, Blessed is the one who will stand up in the beginning!  This ministry is about standing up at the beginning.  When you learn the truth in God’s word, you’ll know that standing up in the beginning is about living God’s gospel of Love.  From now unto eternity, you’ll know that God wants you to live his gospel of Love.  You are standing at the starting line.  You know what to do.   You know the steps you have to take, starting at the beginning.  Out of faith and good works, God says that you shall be saved in the future.  Why the future?  Because shall be saved as presented in gospel witness testimony is a future tense phrase.

Shall – used to express what is inevitable or seems likely to happen in the future.

we shall have to be ready

we shall see

I’ve heard this verse, so many times.  The future tense of shall is testified to by individuals as a current or will state.  I’ve seen discussion on water baptism, where the preacher will testify that as a result of water baptism, you’ll receive the holy ghost.  As presented by Peter, the Holy Ghost shall come at some point in the future.

Acts 2:38 – Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

As I look back on my walk with God, I was baptized as a baby and lived a Christian life, being directed by church and family.  Did I have the Holy Ghost?  I don’t think so.   I did not nor did I feel confident of being a witness for God.  As an adult and attending a bible believing church, six months into my studies, I went to the altar and repented of my sins.  Did I receive the gift of the Holy Ghost?  I still don’t think so.  I knew some verses, but was confused by the simple plan of salvation and shall be saved that many churches are using today to attract people to the congregation.  Maybe that was the Holy Ghost working on my heart with empathy on fire for the lost.

John the Baptist, performed water baptism for the remission of sins, at the beginning of the New Testament.  John the Baptist was put in prison when Jesus started his ministry!   You know that Jesus died on the cross for the remission of sins.  So, does water Baptism or the blood of Christ remove sin?  If you say water by Baptism removes sin, then you are speaking heresy as an anti-Christ believer.  Following the crucifixion and death of Jesus on this Cross, God promises forgiveness of your sins and the gift of the Holy Ghost for those that obey him.  If the blood of Christ removes sin, then you don’t need to subject yourself to water baptism as an act of man!  If any man says you must be baptized for the forgiveness of sins, turn and run from that man and his doctrine as fast as you can!  Some denominations state that water Baptism removes original sin.  Where that statement comes from is not in the bible.  No witnesses speak of original sin.

Romans 3:25 – Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

Acts 5:32 – And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.

Acts 13:38-39 – Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins:  And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.

Matthew 3:11- I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:

John and Luke give warning that you do not know the time and place, when the Father will send the Holy Ghost.

John 3:8 – The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

John 3:27 – John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.

Acts 1:7-8 – And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.  But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Per Acts 2:38, the eunuch should have received the gift of the Holy Ghost, but he didn’t.  He just went away rejoicing.

Acts 8:35-40 – Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.  And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?  And Philip said, If thou believe with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.  And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.  And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing.  But Philip was found at Azotus: and passing through he preached in all the cities, till he came to Caesarea.

Once you believe, repent of your sins and live your life per the will of God by loving God and loving neighbor, God is looking for you to endure to the end.  God will be waiting for you and you shall be saved.  There is no verse in the bible that says you WILL be saved.  Salvation is the future state of shall, by enduring to the end.

Matthew 10:22 – And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.

Matthew 24:13 – But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

Mark 13:13 – And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

Mark 16:16 – He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

Acts 2:21 – And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Acts 11:14-15 – Who shall tell thee words, whereby thou and all thy house shall be saved.  And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning.

Romans 5:9-11 – Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.  For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.  And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.

Romans 10:9-11,13,16-17 – That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.  For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.  For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.  But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?  So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

1 Timothy 2:15 – Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.

Paul and John referred to doing the will of God to receive the promise, of not passing away.

Hebrews 10:36 – For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.

1 John 2:17 – And the world passes away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abides forever.

Your walk begins by doing the will of God.  You recognize that only God can change your life by serving him.  Serving him by living his gospel of Love.  God’s message is clear.   If you love him, then keep his commandments. God will be with you!

To God be the glory in all you do, Amen.
