Believe on God
Bible
Matters 532 Believe on God
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 – Let us hear the
conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this
is the whole duty of man. For God shall
bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or
whether it be evil.
The prophets prior to Jesus, lead the Hebrews
by baby steps. Step by step. God’s
directions were made clear. Moses led by
steps. Out of Egypt, to the Promised
land. When the belief stalled, then God
sent additional prophets to complete the journey.
The New Testament introduces the need for
belief in order that you shall be saved.
This message of salvation for the Hebrews and Gentiles by the grace of
God was delivered by Jesus. When you
believe that Jesus was sent by God to deliver his message of love, then you
must believe on God to deliver you from death.
John 12:44 – Jesus cried and said, He that
believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me.
The Apostle Peter was all about believing on
God the Father. His mercy has provided
hope for everlasting life. A life
amongst the living, without sin.
1 Peter 1:3 – Blessed be the God and Father of
our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us
again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
God spoke through Jesus. It is the knowledge of the word of God and
the continually effort of living per the instructions provided in the word of
God that leads to everlasting life. This
word is contained within the six-point gospel of Love. Thus, when you believe on Jesus then you
believe that God raised him from the dead and you live your life per the
instructions in the Gospel of Love.
1 Peter 1:21-23,25 – Who by him do believe in
God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and
hope might be in God. Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth
through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one
another with a pure heart fervently:
Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the
word of God, which lives and abides forever. But the word of the Lord endures
forever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.
It is the act of living your life per the
gospel of love, serving God and neighbor that saves you! There
is only one true God that gives eternal life.
Do not believe in vain.
1 John 5:10-11,20 – He that believeth on the
Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him
a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. And this is the record, that God hath given
to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. And we know that the Son of God is come, and
hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are
in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and
eternal life.
1 Corinthians 15:1-2 – Moreover, brethren, I
declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have
received, and wherein ye stand; By which
also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye
have believed in vain.
Jesus made it clear for you not to live in
darkness. (i.e. sin) Do not let the
devil take God’s word out of your hearts.
Living the gospel is the act of showing your love to God as directed per
the word of you Lord God.
John 12:46-50 – I am come a light into the
world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness. And if any man hear my words, and believe
not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. He that rejects me, and receives not my
words, hath one that judges him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall
judge him in the last day. For I have
not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment,
what I should say, and what I should speak.
And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak
therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak
Luke 8:12 – Those by the way side are they
that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts,
lest they should believe and be saved.
Acts 16:31-32,34 -And they said, Believe on
the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. And they spake unto him the word of the Lord,
and to all that were in his house. And
when he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them, and rejoiced,
believing in God with all his house.
Remember, shall be saved is a future
state. At any point in your walk with
God, you can decide to ignore the gospel and go back to your old life of
sin. An act of religion does not remove
sin. It is the grace of Jesus offered by
his death on the cross that removed your past sins. Believe and you shall be saved.
Acts 15:7-11 – And when there had been much
disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how
that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth
should hear the word of the gospel, and believe. And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them
witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us; And put no difference between us and them,
purifying their hearts by faith. Now
therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which
neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?
But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall
be saved, even as they.
Romans 10:8-10 – But what saith it? The word
is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith,
which we preach; That if thou shalt
confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that
God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man
believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto
salvation.
Keep yourself from things offered to idols.
Acts 21:23-25 – Do therefore this that we say
to thee: We have four men which have a vow on them; Them take, and purify thyself with them, and
be at charges with them, that they may shave their heads: and all may know that
those things, whereof they were informed concerning thee, are nothing; but that
thou thyself also walkest orderly, and keepest the law. As touching the Gentiles which believe, we
have written and concluded that they observe no such thing, save only that they
keep themselves from things offered to idols, and from blood, and from
strangled, and from fornication.
To obtain the future state of being saved,
then believe that you are to live a life unto righteousness following the
gospel of Love. Do not turn from the
words Jesus delivered. Sin has its
consequences.
Jude 1:4-5 -For there are certain men crept in
unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men,
turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord
God, and our Lord Jesus Christ. I will therefore put you in remembrance, though
ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land
of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.
The witnesses warn you, that when you claim
belief in God you walk the walk that Jesus walked on this earth. Not as a minister of sin, but as a deliverer
of God’s gospel.
John 6:66 – From that time many of his
disciples went back, and walked no more with him.
Hebrews 6:4-6 – For it is impossible for those
who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made
partakers of the Holy Ghost, And have tasted the good word of God, and the
powers of the world to come, If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto
repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put
him to an open shame.
Romans 3:25 – Whom God hath set forth to be a
propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the
remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
Acts 5:4 – Whiles it remained, was it not
thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou
conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.
The Supreme Personality of Godhead said: My
dear Arjuna, how have these impurities come upon you? They are not at all
befitting a man who knows the value of life. They lead not to higher planets
but to infamy.
1 Corinthians 6:10 -Nor thieves, nor covetous,
nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of
God.
1 John 5:18 – We know that whosoever is born
of God sins not; but he that is begotten of God keeps himself, and that wicked
one touches him not.
It is clear from the truth in God’s word that you
must believe and do the will of God the Father to inherit the kingdom of God. Preach the gospel to every creature.
Mark
16:15 – And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel
to every creature.
To God be the glory in all you do, Amen.
