Double Minded
Bible Matters 86: Double minded
Daily, you are torn between the love of the things of
this world and the love of God. You know
God, but rarely do you ask or use him for decisions in your life. You are a servant of sin. Your entire focus is for things of
money. Never do you stop and show your
love for fellow man. You may be exposed
to scripture on Sunday. Monday through
Saturday are your sindays. You struggle
trying to serve God and serve the devil.
The bible tells us that we will not succeed at either. A double minded person serves the devil and
God. God tells us that you cannot serve
God and man. Your focus is not the
things of the past. You should not
consider yourself to be saved and written in God’s Book of Life, if you’ve not
turned from your sinful past.
Luke 16:13 – No servant can serve two masters: for either
he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and
despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
James 4:8 – Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to
you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
Psalm 145:20 – The Lord preserveth all them that love
him: but all the wicked will he destroy
Matthew 10:33 – But whosoever shall deny me before men,
him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.
Romans 6:1-2,6,10 – What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we,
that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? Knowing this, that our old man
is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth
we should not serve sin. For in that he
died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.
2 Corinthians 5:17 – Therefore if any man be in Christ,
he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become
new.
What is a new creature?
One that no longer lives in the past.
You now live your life in the glory of God. You are living a Christ-life, righteous life,
living a life that Jesus Christ wants you to live.
Psalm 55:14-16 – We took sweet counsel together, and
walked unto the house of God in company.
Let death seize upon them, and let them go down quick into hell: for
wickedness is in their dwellings, and among them. As for me, I will call upon God; and the Lord
shall save me.
Psalm 56:13 – For thou hast delivered my soul from death:
wilt not thou deliver my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the
light of the living?
Acts 3:8-9 – And he leaping up stood, and walked, and
entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God. And
all the people saw him walking and praising God:
Psalm 84:11 – For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the
Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that
walk uprightly.
1 Thessalonians 4:1-3,7,9 – Furthermore then we beseech
you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us
how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more. For ye know what commandments we gave you by
the Lord Jesus. For this is the will of
God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication: For God hath not called us unto uncleanness,
but unto holiness. But as touching
brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught
of God to love one another.
Colossians 1:10 –
That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful
in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;
When you are double minded, you refuse to walk in the
light of Jesus.
Psalm 78:10 – They kept not the covenant of God, and
refused to walk in his law;
When you decide to follow Jesus, you no longer want to be
a servant of sin. We are a new
creature. For true happiness, it is time
to love Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and put all and only your trust in him. God says we should love only the Lord thy
God.
Matthew 6:33 – But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and
his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
2 Corinthians 6:16 KJV – And what agreement hath the
temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath
said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they
shall be my people.
By taking these steps, you will start to recognize the
direction that God is giving us and the gifts that he rewards us with
daily.
Proverbs 3:5-7 –

thine own understanding…Study the bible

paths….Give God the glory
Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart
from evil…….Don’t try to out think the bible. Humble yourself and believe.
To God be the glory, in all you do. Amen.
