Bible Matter 341: Best You Now

God is clear in his word.  Above all else, he wants you to be the Best You Now.  You see, before you were formed in the womb, the Lord chose you.  Yes, the Creator of all things, chose you in the womb. 

Isaiah 44:24 – Thus saith the Lord, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the Lord that maketh all things ; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself;

Jeremiah 1:4-5 – Then the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

By God’s breath, all things were

Psalm 33:6 – By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.

Yes, God the Creator of all things chose you before the foundation of the world.

Ephesians 1:4-7 – According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:  Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,  To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.  In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

God has created you to walk in his light.  Walking in sin, alcohol, addiction and darkness is the makings of the devil to keep you from using the talents that God has given you. 

John 1:3-5, – All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made.  In him was life; and the life was the light of men.  And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

The devil are fallen angels that left their habitation kept by the power of God, unto everlasting darkness.  A darkness that they want you to dwell in.  Wandering stars that have no hope. 

Jude 1:6,13 – And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.  Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever.

The devil will keep you in the spirit of fear.  Driving doubt into your spirit and hindering your ability to use the talents that God has given you.  God has given you the power to walk in light, love and of sound mind.

2 Timothy 1:7 – For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

God is light and in him is no darkness.

1 John 1:5 – This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

You are his workmanship, born to do good works.

Ephesians 2:10 – For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Yes, God commands you to work, to do your best work.  Not slothful in business, but serving him, by being the Best You Now.

Thessalonians 3:10 – For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.

Romans 12:11 – Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;

The Best You Now, kept by the power of God.

1 Corinthians 4:20 – For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.

You will need the power of God to wrestle against the devil and darkness. 

Ephesians 6:12-13 – For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.  Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Put your trust in God and be not afraid.

Psalm 91:4-6 – He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.  Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;  Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

You will need the power of God to open your eyes.  Using the power of God, to see all that you can be. 

Acts 26:18 – To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.

To understand the best gifts that he has given you.  To use in a more excellent way.

1 Corinthians 12:31 – But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.

God has an inheritance waiting for you.  Planned for you with skills, yet untapped.  Skills that you may not know that you have.  Skills that will be developed which give glory to God, when first you put your trust in him.

Ephesians 1:11-12 – In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:  That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.

Pray to God for the power to always walk in the light of your Lord.  To do as he requests and do not abide in darkness.  To give God your best.  To be the Best You Now!
