Minister of Sin
Bible Matters 400: Minister of Sin
The preponderance of evidence standard from the eight New Testament witnesses tells you that you are to repent and turn from your sin. (See Bible Matters 235 Repentance POE.)
Luke 5:32 – I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
When you accept your redemption by the shed blood of Jesus Christ and with a pure heart, God will baptize you with the Holy Ghost. You have arrived at the starting line, born again to be leaving your old life of sin and beginning your new walk with the Lord. This walk is your period of growing with the Lord. This walk is not you living your old life of sin, serving the devil. When you put your trust in the Lord, you leave sin behind. If you continue in sin, then you are asking Christ to be a minister of sin. Paul told the Galatians to beware and to turn from sin. Christ is not the minister of sin! God forbid, for sin will keep you from serving the Lord!
Galatians 2:17 – But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid.
When you turn from sin, God is looking for your walk to be pure. Fear God, if you elect to do evil!
Romans 13:3-4,8-14 – For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law. And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.
When you sin freely, you are like a wandering star, who’s light drifts of unto total darkness and death.
Jude 1:13 – Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever.
Paul made it clear to the Hebrews to keep you walk with God to be pure. Provoke one another unto love and good works.
Hebrews 6:4-6 – For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, and have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
Hebrews 10:26-27 – And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.,
Peter is telling you to fear God. Once you’ve escaped the darkness of this world, do not go back! For if you do, and you die in your sin, the latter end is worse than if you had not know the Lord.
2 Peter 2:20-21 – For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
2 Peter 3:17 – Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.
John made it clear in Revelations. When you know you’ve fallen repent!
Revelation 2:5 – Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.
When you love God, you look to do one thing, that is to do the will of the Father! To be his servant and to bring others into his kingdom! To share his love and word. Do not be afraid to share this ministry.
Matthew 7:21 – Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
To God be the glory in all you do, Amen. leo.
