God’s Church

Bible Matters 489:  God’s Church

Jesus came to the earth to deliver God’s gospel of Love.  This gospel and promise of everlasting life is between you and God.   Man and his concrete churches giving glory to man are not to be in your way of establishing a wonderful relationship with God.  Jesus made it clear to Peter that God’s church will be built on the rock of the earth.  Right now, where you are sitting or standing, is exactly where God wants you.  You are in God’s church, learning his word.  The gates of hell shall not prevail against you.

Matthew 16:18 – And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

Man’s temple for the house of God’s was turned into a den of thieves by the Jews.  Instead of prayer, the Jews sold doves and bought in the temple to be offered as a sacrifice for sin. (See Matthew 21:13; Mark 11:17; Luke 19:46)

Matthew 21:13 – And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.

The temple and animal sacrifice did not draw people closer to God.  Remission of sin could be bought off with a price. There was non-righteous, no not one.  There was none that doeth good.

Romans 3:10-12 – As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:  There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.  They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

The High Priest worshipped God and were the mediators between God and man.  The Temple contained the Holy of Holies or inner sanctuary of the Tabernacle where God’s presence appeared only to the High Priests.  The temple veil divided the Holy of Holies from the lesser Holy place.  The Holy of Holies was entered once a year by the High Priest of Israel on Yom Kippur, to sprinkle the blood of sacrificial animals.  Communication with God was not possible for the common man.  God was done with the hierarchy established by the high priests and the isolation of God from the common man.  God wanted all his children to be praying directly to him.  This was made possible by the tearing or renting the veil when Jesus died on the cross.  God removed man or the high priests out of the way for you to have a relationship directly with God. (See Matthew 27:51; Mark 15:38; Luke 23:45)

Mark 15:38- And the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom.

God wants you to pray, directly to him with no one in the way.  Believe and you shall receive.

 Matthew 21:22 – And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

When I prayed on that night of December 3, 2013 that God take my addictions away, God delivered.

When I prayed on that night of September 5, 2021 that God take care of the three pastors delivering deception to the lost, God delivered and texted me, “Romans 8:28” the next morning, September 6, 2012, on my phone,

Romans 8:28 – And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Without fear, I texted the pastors and men in the jail ministry to no longer bring the doctrine of once saved always saved and deception to the lost at the jail.  In bible numbers, 9/6/21, translates into a “Message from God to a man in distress.”  God gave me that jail ministry and he delivered! No one was between God and I.

That is exactly why God does not want works of religion to justify you in the eyes of man.  Give God you heart and works of religion are a thing of man.  These works of religion are not required by God.  Commit your good works unto God and he’ll deliver. Your throne will be established by righteousness.

Proverbs 16:3,9-10,12 – Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established. A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.  A divine sentence is in the lips of the king: his mouth transgresseth not in judgment. It is an abomination to kings to commit wickedness: for the throne is established by righteousness.

Your baptism by Holy Ghost will be your fire.   The Holy Ghost cannot be bought by money or an act of man.  God sends the Holy Ghost when you do his will and obey him.

Hebrews 2:4 – God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?

Acts 5:32 – And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.

Acts 8:19-21 – Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost.  But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money.  Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God.

Jesus did the will of God and God anointed him for doing his will.

Acts 10:38 – How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

John the Baptist, baptized for remission of sins.  Remission means forgiveness of sins.

 Mark 1:4 – John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.

Jesus died on the cross once for remission of sins. The shed blood of Jesus death on the cross was for the remission of sin. (See Matthew 26:28; Luke 22:20; Mark 14:24)  Any man that says God requires water baptism for the remission of sin, then he is blaspheming the Holy Ghost.  If Jesus death did it all, then God does not need man in the way, with acts of deception.

Matthew 26:28 – For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

1 John 1:7 – But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

Romans 3:25 – Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

Acts 5:31 – Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.

1 Corinthians 15:3 – For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

Hebrews 10:10,12 – By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.  But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;

Ephesians 1:7 – In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

Colossians 1:14 – In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

Only the Apostle John gave the testimony from Jesus, that whoso eateth my flesh and drinks my blood hath eternal life.  This one witness verse does not establish the truth in God’s word.  Eating the bread and wine in memory of Jesus’s last supper does not give you eternal life.

John 6:53-54 – Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.  Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.

Peter knew that Jesus’s death on the cross was for the remission of sins.  Peter also knew that the gift of the Holy Ghost could not be bought.  Peter spoke out against acts of religion being required for salvation.

Acts 15:5,7-10 – But there rose up certain of the sect of the Pharisees which believed, saying, That it was needful to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses.  And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.  And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us;  And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.  Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?

This one witness quote means nothing and does not establish the truth in God’s word.

Acts 2:38 – Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

The gift of the Holy Ghost is sent by God.  Not by man’s act of water baptism.  It is not for you to know the time or the season when God puts in his own power.

Acts 1:7-8 – And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.  But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Paul did not baptize, but came to preach the Gospel, lest the cross of Christ should be made non effect.  Paul did not blaspheme the Holy Ghost.

1 Corinthians 1:17 – For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.

Jesus’s message on baptism was the baptism by the Holy Ghost.   Your testimony will be your fire.

Mark 16:15-18 – And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.  He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;  They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

God wants you walk with him seven days a week.  Jesus made it clear that worshipping God only on the sabbath means nothing.  Jesus and his disciples picked corn on the sabbath and healed the sick.  (See Matthew 12:1-2,5; Mark 2:23-24,27; Matthew 12:11-12; Luke 6:1-2,5; Luke 6:9; Luke 13:15,16; Luke 14:3,5; John 5:9,10; John 7:23; John 9:16)

Mark 2:23-24,27 – And it came to pass, that he went through the corn fields on the sabbath day; and his disciples began, as they went, to pluck the ears of corn.  And the Pharisees said unto him, Behold, why do they on the sabbath day that which is not lawful?  And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:

Matthew 12:11-12 – And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out?  How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.

Man’s religion wants you to confess your faults one to another.  Paul made clear that man can’t forgive sins.  Jesus shed his blood for the remission of sins.  Why does man in the flesh think he can forgive sins?

James 5:16 – Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

Hebrews 10:11 – And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:

Your walk begins by doing the will of God.  You recognize that only God can change your life by serving him.  Serving him by living his gospel of Love.  God’s message is clear.   If you love him, then keep his commandments.  Yield yourself unto God.

Romans 6:13 – Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

In God’s church, you live a righteous life unto God, endure to the end and enjoy God’s gift of everlasting life.

1 John 2:17 – And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth forever.

To God be the glory in all you do, Amen.
