Bible Numbers

Bible Matters 518: Bible Numbers

After the bible was translated into English, people recognized that to read and discuss the bible in detail, specific verses needed to be read, compared and understood.  To simplify this discussion, books, chapters, and verses were numbered for the specific authors and witnesses.  Upon further review, patterns begin to develop when comparing the position of events or authors.  Upon looking at parts of the Bible, with reference to the numbers, it was recognized that the numbers have meaning

A totally recognized bible number is 6.  6 is widely recognized as the number of man and 666 is recognized as the devil.  In Genesis, man was created on the sixth day. In Exodus, Moses waited six days before he met the Lord on the mountain prior to receiving the 10 commandments.  In John 6.66, there are men that no longer walked with Jesus and followed his teaching.  If one is not following the words that Jesus delivered, then he is considered to be walking with the devil. If you are not walking accordingly to the righteousness of a man sent by God, Jesus, then you are walking with the devil.   You are a man of the flesh.

John 6:66 – From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.

God tells you to compare the word of God for doctrine, reproof and correction.  Exactly why God has told you 12 times in the bible that out of the mouth of two or three witness, you shall know the truth.

2 Timothy 3:16 – All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

My walk started when I repented of my sins of the flesh, asked for forgiveness and started fresh.  Upon working in the jail ministry, the church I was attending, was all about saving people, without repentance, which is not God’s will.    Telling an addict that he is saved by repeating a couple bible verses and then telling them that they can never lose it is deception.  I knew that I, as a man, could save no one.  Only God can save a person from eternal damnation.  A person has to want it.  I prayed to God on 9/5/21 to help me on this false doctrine.  Finally, on 9/6/21 God texted me “Romans 8:28” on my phone, in the same manner as he texted me “Ecclesiastes.

Romans 8:28 – And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

After I received this text, and without any regard for self, I texted the pastors and told them not to send people to the jail, promising them salvation by reading a couple of bible verses.  After some excitement and a short time later the jail ministry was mine.  Later, I looked up the bible numbers for that date.  9/6/21 in bible numbers is, “A message from God to a man in distress.”  At this point, I knew I was working for God.  Bible numbers have meaning.

Several documents have been compiled, specifying the meaning of Bible Numbers.  On such document I use is, “The Biblical Meaning of Numbers from One to Forty” by Dr. Stephen E.
